Protection Company is located on the corner of Uniondale Avenue and Lafayette Street. Company 4 is a ladder company, which is also known as a truck company. They have a tower ladder truck, an aerial truck, and a special service vehicle, which is used to transport members and carry specialty equipment.
Protection Company responds to firefighting alarms. Their job is to search for victims in a fire, locate the fire, and relay the information to the Chief. They are also responsible for doing overhaul, which means opening up walls and ceilings to check for fire extension and proper extinguishment. Company 4 also trained with the Rescue Company in rope rescue and elevator emergencies.
